ONLINE TIMED AUCTION RULES

ONLINE TIMED AUCTION
It' s an innovative system that allows you to bid on lots in online auctions which take place during a predetermined period of time and without the presence of the auctioneer during the sale.
Usually, the duration of the online timed auctions is 10 days, and the timed auction technology allows you to always access them, via smartphone, tablet or PC, without limits on times or places, and bid or raise on the desired lots.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TRADITIONAL AUCTION AND TIMED AUCTION
The substantial difference between a traditional auction/live auction and the timed auction is the virtual bargaining, characteristic of the latter, which always takes place online and has no time or location constraints from which to enter your bid or view the status of the negotiation.
Since the system of bids and the maximum bid inserted allow you to be "active" 24 hours a day in an indirect way and always have control over the bargaining, direct participation is not necessary.

For the entire duration of the online auction, users who have bid will be notified of changes to the status of the negotiation or price changes, so that they can intervene if necessary.

PARTICIPATION IN TIMED AUCTIONS

1. REGISTRATION ON THE SITE
Registering on the Gelardini Aste site is simple: just create an account by entering "ENTER or REGISTER" on the top righr of the sitepage entering all the information requested in the fields of the registration form, attaching a front/back copy of a valid identity document and any billing information, and accept our general conditions of sale.

The validation of the document sent will take place within 24 hours. Only after validation of the documents it will be possible to partecipate in the auction by placing bids on lots of interest directly from the online catalog.

Once the registration is completed with the Username and Password chosen during registration, you can access your Reserved Area wich allows you to save your personal preferences such as: categories of interest, authors, sales, offers and lots, a list of the offers made and the awards, a list with all the lots you have added to your favorites, so you can find them quickly and easily and bid with just one click!

2. MAKING OFFERS
Once the timed auction is online, you can view detailed descriptions od the lots, images, individual lot status, request a condition report and view the bid status for the lots you have bid on, directly from the online catalog or from your private area.

Once logged in, by selecting the catalog of interest from the auction calendar, it is possible to enter the desired offer with the panel on the lot sheet. The computer system will ask for confirmation of the offer insertion and once accepted, it will immediatly inform the user if the offer inserted is valid, therefore winning, or below the reserve or the other offers already inserted by other users, inviting the user to re-launch.
If the offer entered is valid it may be exceeded late after so the computer system will send  e-mail messages to notify the users that the offer has been exceeded.
In addition to the classic bid, a maximum bid can be made in timed auctions; the user must enter the maximum amount he is willing to offer, which is never shown to other bidders so that the computer system will autonomously defend the offer entered up to the amount indicated in case of bids by other users. Bids will still be notified via e-mail messages. If the bids by other users do not reach the maximum amount indicated, the lot will be awarded at the last useful increase and not at the maximum amount entered. On the day of the auction deadline, the lots will expire at intervals of 1 and a half minute each, in progressive order from the indicated deadline. The expiration of each lot is visible in the lot detail in the online catalog. During the closing phase of an expiring lot, if there is a bidrace in progress in the last 3 minutes before the expiry, EVERY relaunch will cause a postponement of the expiration of the lot in question by another 3 minutes. While the lot in question postpones its expiration, the other lots will follow the set time and continue to expire.

Bid until the auction closes
Until the sale closes, users will be notified via email if the status of a particular lot changes. Since many offers are made on the final day of the sale, we invite you to stay connected to the online catalog so that you can win the desired lots. If it is not possible to follow the auction directly on the online catalog from any device, we recommend that you consider the idea of entering the maximum bid for the lots you want to win, as explained above.

Gelardini Aste assumes no responsibility for failure to submit an online offer due to errors due to the timing of its insertion or to a loss of connection to the operating system or for problems in receiving notifications of overrun or relaunch offers.

3. PAYMENT AND SHIPPING
If at the close of the auction the bids entered are the highest, immediately after the close of the sale, you will receive a congratulatory e-mail notifying the purchase and then separately the account statement for the total expenses, together with the instructions of payment. If you intend to receive a quote for packaging and shipping, we kindly ask you to contact  the Gelardini Auctions offices to add the amount of the eventually accepted quote to the final invoice. We remind you that the auction house rights are 25% including VAT and they must be added to the hammer price, as the General Conditions of Sale that the participants in traditional and online auctions declare in advance that they have read and approved.
The awarded lots will be delivered exclusively by courier or can be collected at our headquarters in Via Pasubio 13, 00195 Rome (RM), by appointment.
